Who are you and what’s your filmmaking background?
Paul Jilbert been making flicks since like the beginning of time. Photographed my first 35mm commercial spot in 1984 for a Ferrari Car dealership and shot it at dusk with an Blade Runner look to it.
What are you working on right now?
Documentary film project with Agents Of Shield comics creator Jim Steranko. Google him you’ll see how he created the first Graphic Novel in 1975.
What are you promoting?
A short film about a girl’s first serious love crush and she takes an ancient approach and writes a paper letter to her Mom about it.
What do you want the audience to take away from your films?
That they can feel and breathe the same air, emotions that my characters are. If one cannot to connect or relate to your film’s characters you should seriously delete all your video files from the shoot and start over!
What are your wildest dreams for your filmmaking career?
Direct and shoot my first feature about my days in 1986 as a movie theater manager. An ode to the films of John Hughes films
What is something bizarre about you?
I was a fully armed security guard at Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power plant
What’s your best advice for an aspiring filmmaker?
Stop shooting everything in Cell phone style. Learn from the masters. Pick up any issue of National Geographic and study the art of photo essay.
