Audience Awards is proud to announce…

March 30, 2017

…the five narrative and five docs that will contend at AudFest 2017!

We’ve been running film challenges for a while now, but when we closed submissions for Women’s Film Challenge, we had no idea the breadth and variety we’d be receiving. Our top 10 films – five narrative and five documentary – are a refreshing mix. From a comedic narrative The Birth, about a husband intent on filming his wife’s home birth no matter what she says, to the heartbreaking Our Voices Are Rarely Heard, a documentary about men in solitary confinement at Pelican Bay State Prison, 2017’s WFC drew great talent.

At 7:30 p.m. Saturday April 8th at El Portal Theater in North Hollywood, Audience Awards Film Festival honors Ondi Timoner, award-winning documentarian and consummate fierce female filmmaker. After that, beginning at 8:30 p.m., these top 10 films have a red carpet screening:

Two L.A. filmmakers made the semifinals, and those films will also screen: Tchaiko Omawale’s Solace and Rosser Goodman’s InVisible.

The women who placed in the top 10 will receive or compete for this delicious bevy of prizes, all of which will help them continue to fulfill their dreams:
