Mr. Scandinavia

Ross Fogelquist, became openly gay in his senior years. He didn’t dare come out in more conservative, unaccepting times so he gave up on the dream of having a loving partner in his life by immersing himself in his Swedish heritage.  Ross Fogelquist is Mr. Scandaniva, the Knight of the Royal Order of the Polar Star—first class, and founder of the Scandinavian Heritage Foundation.  He is a welcoming host, nature enthusiast and friend to many.

A Roller Coaster Ride of Shadows and Sunshine

Arthur, an educator, playwright and novelist, also revealed that he was gay in his senior years, after an attempted marriage to turn him straight. He has cancer and reflects on death and the meaning of life. He advises his niece, the filmmaker of this piece, to “be honest with yourself.” Arthur reads from the medieval play Every Man, in which death visits every man. This film adresses the dialogue we have with death and how to make the most of life.

Congratulations to last week’s Film Face-Off Winner _____! If you haven’t seen last week’s films about female wrestlers and MMA fighters, check it out.
