Oscar Award Winner and Bahama native, Sidney Poitier, makes his debut in Joseph Mankiewicz’s, No Way Out, a drama surrounding racism and medical ethicsPoiter won an Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his part in the 1963 film, Lilies of the Field.

August 16, 1977

Elvis Presley is found dead at his home in Graceland at the age of 42. The King died of a heart attack due to a drug overdose. He was said to have had an enlarged heart at the time before his death and multiple drugs were found in his system, but he continues to live on in the hearts of many fans.
