Environmental and film experts curate the top contenders in the Wild and Green Film Festival

Our Wild and Green Film Festival asks for shorts up to 30 minutes in length centered on today’s most pressing issues: climate change, endangered species, sustainability. Its jury is made of both environmental and film experts. We’d love for you to meet them:

Jennifer Galvin, ScD, MPH, is a producer/director at reelblue.net. Dr. Galvin drives societal progress by turning resources—both human and financial—into social impact. A trusted advisor to public health, environmental science and social innovation leaders, she builds bridges across sectors to find the common pulse between research, film, entrepreneurial and philanthropic networks. She’s known for producing human-centered projects and directing investment in people, places and programs to elevate global health.

Arjumand Hamid is the Director of Educational Outreach at the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital, focusing her work on the importance of continuing educational outreach programs for families and individuals outside school realms. Arjumand has a degree in art history, political science and South Asian studies from the University of Toronto and a master’s degree in museum studies from Johns Hopkins University. Her involvement with DCEFF has further developed her passion for the environment and strong desire to inspire others to make a difference.

Jason Coleman is film critic/movie journalist with over 20 years of experience, the last six years at Starpulse.com and before that as Senior Entertainment Editor for The213.net and 213 Magazine and previously a writer for JoBlo.com. Coleman continues to spew his love and passion for film today writing for WhySoBlu.com, which includes his regular columns Encapsulated Movie Reviews and Forgotten Friday Flick. He is also the founder of Flicks for Fans (www.Facebook.com/Flicks For Fans), a company he formed with partner James “Jimmy O” Oster of Joblo.com that holds screenings, festivals and amazing cinematic events dedicated to ‘creating a beyond-the-norm experience at the movies.’
