Voting began this morning for the 2015 Big Sky Doc Fest Mini-Docs Showcase. The showcase celebrates the mini-docs and shorts from the festival’s biggest turn out to date. The Audience Awards and Big Sky Documentary Film Festival have partnered to bring online audiences the opportunity to watch, or re-watch 18 of the festival’s first-rate short films.
The Big Sky Documentary Film Festival happens every February in Missoula, the artistic hub of Montana, which The Audience Awards also calls home. As Missoula’s most important live cultural event, there were celebrated appearances this year made by John Cohen, Sam Green and Yo La Tengo.
“The Spirit that it takes to make a documentary is represented by the kind of community that is in Missoula,” said Big Sky visiting director Sam Carroll. Now a bit of the magic and spirit of the festival is online for you to view, critique and vote on. Do you have a question for the filmmaker? Or is there a moment of cinematic genius you want to praise them for? You can tell them online, during The 2015 Big Sky Doc Fest Mini-Docs Showcase.
