Filmmakers from across the U.S. compete for $9,400 worth of travel passes from Southwest Airlines
Missoula—Jan. 16, 2018—Southwest Airlines® (NYSE: LUV) is partnering with the web-based video contest platform Audience Awards to host a competition inspired by the company’s Behind Every Seat is a Story: Behind Every Story is the Reason for Transfarency campaign. The competition’s website is home to content creators from all over the world. They are invited to submit a three-minute video about the reason they fly Southwest Airlines.
“We’re passionate about our Customers and telling the story of why they fly whether it’s reuniting with a loved one or seeing the world from a new perspective. This is the foundation of our Behind Every Seat is a Story campaign,” said Helen Limpitlaw, Director, Brand, at Southwest Airlines. “Now, it’s your turn to tell your story about why you fly, the moments you experience, and ultimately showcase your love of travel.”
During the contest period, which continues through Feb. 15, video submissions could be featured on the 175 stories microsite and other Southwest social media platforms. Five winners will be selected and those videos will be featured on Southwest Airlines social media channels. The grand prize is 12 round trip travel passes.
Winners will receive a select number of e-passes good for one-way travel on Southwest Airlines or gift cards. Official terms, conditions, and rules are below. Videos may be submitted by visiting the Your Seat, Your Story page on the Audience Awards website.
HOW THE WINNERS ARE DETERMINED
There are two rounds of jurying. From the first round, the top 20 preliminary jury selected entries will move on to the finals round to be judged by Southwest. From these finalists, Southwest will select and award prizes to the top 5 juried submissions. Final jury winners will be announced on February 22nd. There is no audience voting for this contest. This is a contest of skill. Your chances of winning depend on how well your entry reflects the judging criteria, as compared to the other entries in the Promotion.
Judging will be based on the following categories: Adherence to Assignment: 40%, Quality of Work: 35%, Rules (must have read and complied with the Official Rules): 25%. * In the event of a tie, the Submission with the highest score in the “Quality of Work” category will win.
