Missoula Community Foundation encourages online voting and giving to benefit local nonprofits on AudPop.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 13, 2019, Missoula, Mont. — As nonprofits face unprecedented times and significant drops in funding, the Missoula Community Foundation is moving forward with its annual fundraising initiative Missoula Gives & Bitterroot Gives. Previous plans for in-person launch and celebration events are moving to virtual live events during the 26-hour online giving celebration happening April 30 – May 1.

Through AudPop, the Msla CF has also added an interactive video platform to provide local nonprofits the opportunity to tell their stories and engage with the community and potential donors. Starting April 13 through April 19, community members can vote online daily at https://audpop.com/missoulacommunityfoundation/missoulagives30secondvideochallenge/entries for their favorite Missoula Gives & Bitterroot Gives nonprofit videos. The top videos will receive exposure on KPAX TV and KPAX.com.

“Our nonprofits are a major part of what makes the Missoula and Bitterroot valleys such special places,” said Marcy Allen, Missoula Community Foundation Executive Director. “They need our support more than ever, and keeping our dates and celebrating our community separately but together feels like the right thing to do.”

In its previous six years, Missoula Gives & Bitterroot Gives raised a combined $1.7 for local nonprofits. As of April 13th, we have 116 organizations signed up to participate in the initiative that connects generous Missoulians and Bitterrooters with the causes they care about.

AudPop is excited to offer a new way to connect people with local causes during Missoula Gives & Bitterroot Gives,” said Paige Williams, founder of Missoula-based AudPop, formerly known as The Audience Awards. “The videos are informative and inspirational and will make us all proud to live in this community filled with causes and people doing amazing work.”

As Missoula Gives & Bitterroots Gives transitions entirely to virtual events for the April 30 – May 1 fundraising celebration, Msla CF and participating nonprofits will provide updates on Facebook Live community performances and fun challenges to encourage connection and giving.

“We may not know what the future holds, but we do know that as we come out of this complex time, our nonprofits will help support and sustain the spirit of our community, and we’ll be there for them,” said Allen.
