Presenting the Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture

August 8, 2016

What is your film commission’s mission?

The mission of the Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture is to develop and connect resources to further grow and enhance the region’s creative industries including film, music and arts – all while promoting Tulsa as a creative hub and cultural destination.

What makes your film commission unique?

Tulsa is home for such a diverse range of artists. We look to cultivate our artists, and offer them a special community for them to flourish in. Between thoughtfully developed communities like 108 Contemporary, Arts & Humanities Hardesty Center, and a variety of panels and special events for filmmakers and musicians – our film commission offers something for every artist.

What are some perks to filming in your location?

Tulsa is easily accessible and extremely easy to get around – 20 minutes in the car can take you from one end of the city to the other. Tulsa offers a stunningly scenic landscape, particularly with our spring blossoms and rich fall foliage. Our collection of Art Deco buildings is well known throughout the nation and provides a gorgeous backdrop as well as historical context. Tulsa is also very proud of our strong industry of film crew professionals. Circle Cinema is a strong part of our community as Tulsa’s only independent movie theater. You can also go to www.visittulsa.com to explore our wide range of lodging, dining and entertainment options.

The Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture launched the new brand in August 2015. Represented on the cover image are two versions of the logo: 1) Film focused image logo 2) Mural image logo (you’ll find this large scale mural on a wall in downtown Tulsa)Tulsa

Best promotional swag: https://theaudienceawards.com/designcontests/best-promotional-swag

Our #CREATEDINTULSA t-shirts, sunglasses, and buttons, plus our mural logo Chapstick- these items have been hot for the last year and everyone has wanted them all! We submitted these items because in promoting Tulsa FMAC they have been helpful and fun. Not only do people enjoy them, but it’s very cool to see people around town in the t-shirts and sunglasses, or t-shirts on crew during filming!

Our first film ad was created, and featured in the Beyond Cinema magazine, Issue 11/2016. It’s our first film ad, and we are very proud of it!
