VideoBlocks CEO TJ Leonard gives Audience Awards the low-down on affordable, quality stock footage for today’s talented filmmakers
Since Audience Awards began, we have continued to look for ways to introduce filmmakers to opportunity and expose those filmmakers to the world. One of the ways we’ve been able to do that is through partnerships with innovative, forward-thinking companies who share our vision. One of those standout partnerships is with VideoBlocks, a stock video company started in 2009 – or was it 2003, when founder Joel Holland was still in high school?
Listen to CEO TJ Leonard tell VideoBlocks’ origin story:
From those humble beginnings, with Holland sending out footage by mail, has grown a formidable digital distribution company. They’ve expanded their resources to include AudioBlocks, a stock music library, and GraphicStock, with hundreds of thousands of photos, illustrations, vectors and other design elements. Their footage is used by big Hollywood studios and independent filmmakers alike. Leveling the playing field is the North Star the company continues to follow, as proven by their Marketplace initiative.
Our relationship with VideoBlocks started in 2013 when they graciously opened their library to our Doc Challenge filmmakers. Their company mission mirrors our own: to help the artists TJ calls “the mass creative class.” Both VideoBlocks and Audience Awards are devoted to the world’s most talented content creators. This partnership, which begins with a VideoBlocks free trial for Audience Awards Pro members, is only going to get better.
