Every year, Audience Awards hosts the Shorty Shorts Film Festival dedicated to micro shorts and GIFs under 1-minute! Here are the top three jury-selected winning films from this year’s 2018 Shorty Shorts Film Festival.
The winners were decided on by the global audience and the Shorty Shorts jury panel including, Brent Noll, animator for adult swim’s Rick and Morty; Kristin Gritt, Nashville-based Social Media Strategist @VML; Alexa Alianiello, client partner at Twitter.
The first place shorty short is Rainbow Youth by Jamie Lawrence which speaks to the inappropriate use of the word, “gay” and ending with the reminder, “if it’s not gay, it’s not gay.”
In the second place film, Bang Bang by Jackie Droujko, two girls sick of the daily grind, thieve their way to riches. The duo strikes big, but will they bite more than they can chew?
Rounding out our winners in third place is, Tuck Me In by Ignacio Rodó. In Tuck Me In, Alex asks his father to tuck him in, but that’s not the only thing he asks for.
