Introducing the Beverly Hills Film Festival

April 4, 2016

What is your film festival’s mission?

The Beverly Hills Film Festival’s (BHFF) mission is to establish a philanthropic identity as a cultural preserver and a fortified patron of literacy advancement in the fields of arts and humanities on a local and globalized level. The BHFF serves as a cinematic cultural template for emerging filmmakers who wish to express their uniqueness through the lens of past excellence while trying to make alliances with sources of power in the cinematic industry. The BHFF merges today’s filmmaking pioneers with the wealth of cinematic heritage by edifying and developing the film community.

What role does your film festival play in supporting your film’s community?

The BHFF aims to involve and serve the next generation of entrepreneurs, investors, leaders, and advocates in its community to provide cause work opportunities; to partner with authors and educators who wish to inspire and enlighten the public in the field of arts and humanities; to create and host innovative, educational conferences, panel discussions, digital productions through partnerships with renowned institutions and organizations; to compile archival data and produce innovative material dedicated to cinematic history and theory; to recognize and reward the unique skills of emerging filmmakers; and to fulfill the philanthropic vision of its sponsors in order to preserve and enhance the culture of the arts in return. By focusing on the field of arts and humanities within its community, the BHFF endeavors to invest in the community members’ literacy needs by dedicating specific funds in the categories of Literacy within the Field of Arts and Humanities, Cinematic Historical Preservation, and the Community and Cultural Enhancement for Online literacy, ultimately providing K-12 and college students the opportunity to pursue their dreams and develop their creative skills.

What is something people look forward to every year at your film festival?

The BHFF witnesses the attendance of thousands of extremely enthusiastic attendees who mainly look forward to a unique selection of independent films and screenplays with the highest caliber in the industry, along with carefully considered group of celebrity involvement/appearances that serves the objective of inspiring, developing, and enhancing independent filmmakers and writers’ careers.

How long has your film festival been around?

The Beverly Hills Film Festival (BHFF) is proud to advance into its 16th annual, world-class event.

Who is sponsoring your festival and why?

Due to the fact that the STEM Education Bill of 2013 will not allow the needed federal and state funds for the Arts and Humanities in k-12 and higher education institutions in the U.S., the Beverly Hills Film Festival’s brand new mission and vision have inspired the giants of financial institutions, community colleges, and four-year universities to sponsor the BHFF’s goal to invest in its community members’ literacy needs within the field of Arts and Humanities.

What do you want audiences to take away from your film festival?

The BHFF believes that this is not yet another film festival; what has made the Beverly Hills Film Festival so unique for the passed 16 years is its exceptional focus on its community members’ literacy needs and the type of quality independent filmmaking that it builds, supports, and represents.
