Who are you and what’s your filmmaking background?
I’m a filmmaker, video artist and composer who specializes in performing arts profiles and experimental/dance films. My work has screened in a few dozen festivals and won awards, while I also manage online filmmaker communities at www.focuspulling.com and www.docofilm.com. I’m the recipient of the Emergence award at Docs In Progress, where I teach video editing as an Adobe Certified Expert. Most recently, I worked as a small camera specialist for a Paramount feature film starring Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, and was a resident dance filmmaker at Experimental Film Virginia in Cape Charles, Virginia.
What are you working on right now?
Short documentary about the premiere of Olivier Messiaen’s “Quartet for the End of Time” that he composed while a prisoner during World War II, leading up to the 75th anniversary of that premiere on January 15, 1941, in collaboration with “The President’s Own” Marine Band in Washington, D.C.
What are you promoting?
Just finished a feature-length documentary about the life and music of American composer Samuel Barber.
