What is your film festival’s mission?
The MIA Animation Festival’s mission is to promote students and young professionals’ work and vision, and to help them further themselves in their careers. We also promote these young professionals’ animations on our website and YouTube page.
What role does your film festival play in supporting your film’s community?
The MIA Animation Festival is the only animation festival in South Florida.
What is something people look forward to every year at your film festival?
The community always enjoys the Student Competition, where they can see works created by their peers, sons, daughters and friends.
What do you want audiences to take away from your film festival?
Animation as an art form, a medium to tell a story.
How long has your film festival been around?
This will be MIA Animation Festival’s 5th edition.
How did your film festival come into being?
It was created to give incentive to students to tell stories using animation as a vehicle,and to get themselves ready for the workforce through the means of creating a short animated project.

The Audience Awards is film’s social network connecting audiences to films, filmmakers and film festivals. The Audience Awards hosts short film competitions where the audience chooses the best films.
