Meet Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, a Real Montana finalist

April 25, 2015

What about Montana inspired you to create your short?

Our tour reaches 51 towns in Montana every summer. We love the people, the scenery and the spirit of the place. Even though we’re theatre people and not professional filmmakers, when we heard about the contest, we just had to share our love of this great state.

What other videos competing in Real Montana did you enjoy and why?

Have to say that Biga Pizza’s video made us very hungry for pizza. So did Red Tractor’s. Maybe we just love pizza. So many of the landscape ones, A Yellowstone Minute, Defying Expectations, Montana, etc., are just gorgeous.

What is your next project?

Our plays this summer are Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac. We open Wednesday, June 17 at the MSU Duck Pond. Come on out and see what we like to call live films (theatre).

What do you plan to do with the prize money if you win?

All proceeds go to support our mission of bringing free, professional productions of Shakespeare and other classics to mostly rural, underserved communities in five states, but mostly Montana.

Thanks to the Department of Tourism and The Audience Awards for this opportunity!
