Mundee reviews SIFF short film winner, Maikaru

June 2, 2014

Maikaru was created in five days for The 2014 International Documentary Challenge. The film premiered at Hot Docs recently and won Best Directing and runner up in the Doc Challenge. It screened at The Seattle International Film Festival in May and won Best Short Film and is now Oscar eligible – not bad for a film made in just five days! You can view the film in its entirety July 23 when it competes for The Audience Awards.
