Presenting Filmmaker Jeff Zorrilla competing in the KODAK SUPER 8 FILMMAKING CHALLENGE

December 23, 2015

Who are you and what’s your filmmaking background?

My name is Jeff Zorrilla. I am an American filmmaker currently working in Buenos Aires. I studied film in Santa Cruz, California and then worked in production in New York for 5 years until moving to Argentina.

What are you working on right now?

I am currently finishing a documentary about sexual tourism in Latin American through the viewpoint of the clients. I also work constantly on experimental cinema in Super 8 and give workshops every week where my students film, develop and project a Super 8 film all in one day.

What are you promoting?

I am promoting my film San Guerrero which is a portrait of an American expatriot living in Buenos Aires and working as a historical tour guide during the day and a sexual tour guide during the night. This super 8 short film is a first glimpse of my documentary about sexual tourism, Monger.

What do you want the audience to take away from your films?

I want the audience to relearn the beauty of the analog image and to constantly question the realities we are sold from our youth.

What is something bizarre about you?

I film, develop, and project all of my own films.

What currently inspires you?

I am inspired by the underground art movement in the city of Buenos Aires where artists can manage to create a striving community without the impositions of the market.
