Who are you and what’s your filmmaking background?
My name is Tommy Swan, acting is my true passion, but I love seeing ideas come to life with film. I started creating short movies with my family and friends when I was about 14 years old. We would always make these short silly videos just for fun. I didn’t think much of it at the time because it was just a hobby. Then one day it hit me and I thought to myself “I want to do this for the rest of my life” and I’ve been working on films and ideas ever since.
What are you working on right now?
Right now I’m working on an adventure/fantasy film with Cruel Ocean Productions.
What do you want the audience to take away from your films?
I want people to think about the film and wonder where it could go from there. The desire for more, what’s next?
What’s your favorite story from filmmaking?
When we were finishing up “Just Run” a girl was watching us film and she asked about the movie. We gave her a piece of paper with information on it so she could find the film. It was awesome!
What are your wildest dreams for your filmmaking career?
I would absolutely love to work on a project with Steven Spielberg. He is my biggest inspiration. I would also love to star in one of his films!

What currently inspires you?
Music has been inspiring me a lot recently. I’ll hear a song (mostly instrumental music) and picture scenes to go along with it, then build off of that.
What’s your best advice for an aspiring filmmaker?
It’s a little cliché to say but don’t give up. You’re going to fail at everything you do. Work hard at what makes you happy. Gather a group of your friends and write some ideas and bring it to life!
