Presenting West Virginia Film Office

August 3, 2016

What is your film commission’s mission?

The West Virginia Film Office supports commerce by recruiting motion picture, television, and related media productions to select West Virginia locations to conduct business.

What makes your film commission unique?

The West Virginia Film Office provides comprehensive support and guidance to all business prospects, no matter the size of a production. We provide liaison support to all types of productions, from blockbusters to micro-budgets.

What are some perks to filming in your location?

Besides a great film tax credit incentive, West Virginia is renowned for its amazing hospitality. The community and business leaders bend over backwards to accommodate the oddities that come with production activity. Most productions are made to feel like it’s their home, and they want to return again and again – and do!

Are there any projects you would like to promote?

West Virginia has doubled for dozens of countries around the world as well as numerous U.S. states. For proof, check out AMC’s “The American West” (http://www.amc.com/shows/the-american-west), History’s “The World Wars” (http://www.history.com/shows/the-world-wars), and Paramount’s “Super 8” (http://www.paramount.com/movies/super-8), just to name a few.
