Check out Red Tractor Pizza’s Video in Real Montana

April 10, 2015

How did you get inspired to become a filmmaker?

We decided to make this short film about Red Tractor Pizza to showcase the importance of eating local, organic foods, and present it in a fun and entertaining way. At Red Tractor, we are incredibly passionate about life, love and making pizza that is actually healthy, supports our local economy and tastes amazing!

What is your favorite part about the short film form?

Red Tractor’s favorite part was the challenge of fitting our Montana-sized message into such a short form project. We loved meeting and working with a whole new crew of people, and trying to push the envelope of absurdity to make something that could appeal to a broad audience.

Who were the people that supported the making of this film?

This film was supported by Red Tractor Pizza, Redbrain Media, and Amaltheia Dairy Farm, all local Bozeman Businesses. We are doing this project to support one of our favorite organizations, Gallatin Valley Farm to School. And let’s not forget the Sola Cafe bakers who almost got run over by the filmmakers in the Red Tractor kitchen.

What resources do you use as a filmmaker?

We shot this entire film with two Canon DSLRs, and one microphone. The music was graciously donated by Cure for the Common, a local Bozeman band. This film also implemented an entirely new filmmaking resource: spouting pizzas.

What is your next project?

We want to continue to make fun, eclectic marketing videos for Red Tractor. Even though we are crazy invested in organic farming and locally sourced ingredients, we aren’t snobs! We still love to have fun and make entertaining content for our fans.

What advice would you give new filmmakers?

Don’t get too caught up in the planning and prepping and making it “perfect”. We just had fun making this video and went from concept to completion in just a couple days. It’s great to remember that filmmaking doesn’t always have to be a huge long arduous stressful process.

Anything else you’d like to add?

The proceeds that we could win from this contest will go directly towards throwing a community pizza party in Bozeman, Montana this summer that would all go towards benefitting our favorite local organization: Gallatin Valley Farm to School.
