Introducing Filmmaker Mimi Matsuda, Competing in the Real Montana Showcase

April 7, 2015

How did you get inspired to become a filmmaker?

This short film competition, Real Montana, inspired us to gather our talents and express our appreciation of Montana in 60 seconds. I’m excited to share my visual art in this first film. Thank you to The Audience Awards and Montana Office of Tourism for instigating!

What is your favorite part about the short film form?

You get a condensed, power-packed story in a tiny bit of time.

Who were the people that supported the making of this film?

Mr. Jere Folgert is the pro! He is the photographer and gathers the video and still photography and stitched it all together. Thanks for playing your guitar for the music component. Mega kudos for hours of editing!

What resources do you use as a filmmaker?

Resources, the great state of Montana! We used GoPro Hero3, Panasonic cameras and guitar by Jere Folgert.

What is your next project?

Films on wildlife in Montana.
