Introducing Jack Parker Of Black Forest Films

May 1, 2015

Who are you and what’s your filmmaking background?

I’m a 20 year old filmmaker from Seattle Washington who came to Montana for its serene landscapes and Bozeman particularly for its incredible film scene.

What are you working on right now?

Right now I’m starting production on a dark comedy I wrote about a young man getting mixed up in a vicious sex scandal. Then, if everything goes to plan I’m aiming to make a western zombie feature this upcoming summer.

What are you promoting?

For this short documentary Blue Mountain Tyme I’m promoting my cousin Hannah Dewey and her incredible talent in both leather work and sewing. Also, my ability to make an effective film that will draw in the viewer and successfully portray my subject for who they are both on the outside and internally.

What do you want the audience to take away from your films?

I not only want them to be informed about the story or the person I’m documenting, but I want the audience to connect emotionally to my work. If you can achieve that with film, or art, or whatever it is you do in life, theres literally no better feeling.

What are your wildest dreams for your filmmaking career?

To one day be able to travel around the world and create films based of the countless stories that are out there just waiting to be told.

What currently inspires you?

My hard working family, cousins and all, and the people I work on films with.

What’s your best advice for an aspiring filmmaker?
