Mountainfilm uses the power of film, art, and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world.
What role does your film festival play in supporting your film’s community?
We work to support our local community with free year-round programming and also during the festival, with our free Gallery Walks, Films at the Outdoor Base Camp Theater, Ice cream Social and student screenings at the local school.
What is something people look forward to every year at your film festival?
The unmatched programming from Festival Director, David Holbrooke is what makes our festival one of MovieMaker Magazines, “Top 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World.” The word most often used by attendees to describe their experience at our festival is “inspirational.”

How did your film festival come into being?
In 1979, a group of climbers came together at a local theater to watch climbing films.
What do you want audiences to take away from your film festival?
New ideas, new experiences, passion, inspiration, compassion and a desire to take action!

Our goal is to inspire audiences to create impact, take action and work to create a better world.
