Throwback Thursday: The Goonies

October 2, 2014

HHHEEEYYYY YOU GUUYYYSS!!  You remember The Goonies, right? Of course you do because The Goonies was a totally awesome, quintessential 80’s  flick.  We can hardly think about the 80’s without the Chunk doing the Truffle Shuffle coming to mind.

In case you haven’t seen The Goonies, the film features a band of pre-teens who live in the “Goon Docks” neighborhood of Astoria, Oregon who are attempting to save their homes from demolition. In doing so, they discover an old map that leads them on an adventure to unearth the long-lost fortune of the pirate, One-Eyed Willie. They head down the coast and stumble upon a derelict seaside restaurant that seems to match coordinates set by the map. This is where they encounter the Fratellis, a family of fugitives who are using the restaurant as their hideout.

Adventure, cunning, and hilarity ensue.
